Guarantees of Origin
A guarantee that an equal amount of renewable energy is produced as the amount of power you use.
- Strengthen the company's sustainable profile
- Environmentally certificate included in climate accounting
- Support Norwegian hydropower
Guarantees of origin are a labeling scheme for electricity to show the customer that a certain amount of power has been produced from a specified energy source.
Water is a climate-friendly and renewable energy source, and almost 90% of all power delivered in Norway comes from water. As Norway is part of the European electricity market, some of the power we use also comes from other energy sources.
At Gudbrandsdal Energi, we cannot control where the electricity in your outlet comes from, but with Guaranteed Hydropower origin guarantees, you ensure that an equal amount of renewable energy from hydropower is produced as you consume.
It gives you control over what kind of electricity you pay for while also increasing the demand for energy from hydropower.
We prefer to purchase locally produced guarantees of origin, where the purchase amount goes towards maintenance and upgrading of local hydropower plants in Gudbrandsdalen and in Innlandet.
Price: 8 øre/kWh excl. VAT.
